I know what it feels like to struggle with English.
Originally from Barbados, I moved to the UK at the age of eight and found myself in a completely new education system. I experienced first-hand how difficult and at times demoralising it can be to feel like you’re struggling to keep up, even when you’re trying your best.
Everything changed when my parents found me a tutor. That one-to-one support built my confidence and gave me the tools to keep going. From that moment on, education became more than just schoolwork. It became a way to express myself, understand the world, and navigate challenges both inside and outside the classroom.
That experience is what drives me today. I created Alexandria’s Private Tuition to be the support I once needed, to help students who feel unsure, overwhelmed or underestimated. My mission is to be the change that helps another young Elizabeth find her voice and realise her full potential.
With two academic degrees and over six years of teaching experience across secondary school and college, I’ve worked with learners of all abilities and backgrounds.
My approach is rooted in real classroom experience, strong subject knowledge and a deep commitment to helping students grow not just academically but personally.
